Extension of donation agreement with Graymont (calcium lime) :
The donation agreement with Graymont (Bedford site) initiated in 2020 has been extended in 2023 for a period of 5 years. It covers the provision of traditional lime free of charge to all Collectif owners (and potential new members) as well as to associate farmers for their own land (from 2023), for which the Collectif is very grateful.
Watershed : Self-diagnosis questionnaire :
In conjunction with Conservation Lac Brome (formerly “Renaissance Lac Brome”), the Collectif has developed a tool to qualify and quantify issues related to the Yamaska watershed in West Bolton. After 2 years of development, this tool is finally ready for its first beta test phase.
The self-diagnostic questionnaire covers a very wide range of information to provide a good understanding of the current state of the watershed and the various issues present in the field:
- An important aim of the questionnaire is to make individual homeowners aware of the important aspects of preserving the environment, flora and fauna, and water quality, as well as the potential improvements required to ensure this;
- A second objective of the questionnaire is to help prioritize the issues encountered on the territory (e.g. erosion, pollution, water quality, drainage, flooding, wetlands, biodiversity, etc.) so as to enable concerted action plans with stakeholders;
- A final objective is to disseminate the questionnaire to other municipalities and MRCs, so that they can quickly activate a similar approach.
