Membership

Membership conditions

Affiliation to the Collectif de Bolton-Ouest as an Effective Member (“Actor” and “Promoter”) or as a Participating Member (“Member” and “Expert”) can be done if the following conditions are met:

  • Adhere to the Mission and the Charter of values of the Collective and between respecting them and having them respected in the development of activities;
  • Be the owner of a property in the Municipality of Bolton-Ouest or a property bordering the territory of the Municipality or be a service provider to the Collective and/or have specific expertise deemed useful to the Collective. In the case of a service provider to the Collective, the services delivered must have been deemed satisfactory for a period of at least 2 years prior to joining;
  • Be sponsored by at least two voting members of the Collective at the time of joining the Collective;
  • Participate in at least 1 module of the Collective;
  • Pay the entrance fee (membership fee) to the Collective (providing access to the Collective’s documentation);
  • Also pay the annual membership fee as well as any exceptional fundraising which would, if necessary, be ratified beforehand by the General Assembly;
  • Agree to get involved directly or indirectly within the Collective through:
    • A proven spirit of collaboration and sharing associated with regular attendance at meetings (or by way of representation or power of attorney) of the Collective (“Actors”) or without this obligation (“Promoters”, “Members”, “Experts” );
    • Sharing of information, statistics and/or expertise in the context of time/presence made available;
    • Compliance with governance rules (votes, budget, sharing of common operating costs, etc.).

The Collective welcomes 4 categories of members, divided into 2 categories, with or without the right to vote at the General Assembly of Members (AGM):

* An Adherent member is free to participate, more or less actively, in any module of the Collective or even none for a maximum period of one year. Subsequently, the Adherent Member may become an Actor Member or a Promoter Member upon payment of the annual membership fee in force.

Entry fee (membership fee) and annual membership fee

The entrance fee (membership fee) allows the member to access the Collective and the work in progress: it is paid only once when accessing the Collective. The annual contribution, meanwhile, covers the operating costs of the Collective: it is paid each year.

The amount of the entrance fee and annual subscriptions is established annually by the Board and proposed to the Annual General Meeting of Members (AGM) for ratification. The CA establishes the terms of payment of the annual subscription and, as the case may be, of the entrance fee.

Membership procedure

Anyone wishing to become a member submits their candidacy to the Secretary of the Collective. Any new membership will be subject to the approval of the CA Membership is made complete by the approval of the CA and the payment of the annual subscription and the membership fee according to the case (see members@lecollectifbolton-ouest.ca) .
